Here's my August CQJP 2013 and I'll take a break from this project until fall. There are so many things that need attention on the farm and I want to finish my chatelaine.
This block is my "Ode to a Wren" and will be a favorite because this tiny, rather plain, brown bird (1/3 of an ounce) brings me great joy with its lovely song.

Hard to describe the feeling this block evokes in me - maybe serenity. Just being able to sit and listen to the tiny bird sing.
We used to have a wren house in our garden and the Jenny Wren returned each year, blessing us with her/his song on hot summer afternoons.
Your block is lovely and your chipmunk is so cute!
Love that sweet bird.
Your tiny little stitched Wren is just precious. May they sing to you a happy tune...
such a sweet little wren. You are ahead with august already done, now you can concentrate on your door, wonder how it is coming along
I just love this block .... it touches my heart. I can almost hear him singing as those notes pour out of his mouth. I just got a new stand to hold bird seed out on my patio, so will hope to bring in some little songsters here too.
