Today was a special treat as I had a varied thrush picking at the sunflowers seeds in the snow under the feeder. We only have them passing through, and seldom at that, so it was exciting.
And since nature gave me lemons I made a lemon sponge tart...one of my favorites... especially when DH is doing the dishes as it dirtied the entire kitchen, the stove, about 6 bowls and two pans...
Morris and Molly butt to butt on the new bench... They spend hours watching the birds at the feeder also... And I feel like Alice because early Wednesday I'm off to see the wizard with my suffrage quilt and won't be back until the end of the week... I promise pictures.

I work either by the sliding glass doors or by the window on my sewing table for the light. The window looks out over the park so I can watch some birds and this morning a little squirrel whom I sure had chilly toes - -30 on a chain link fence rail must be just a little cold. He didn't stay too long. Isn't it wonderful to have someone to do the clean-up when we make messes. I do the cooking and DH does the clean-up...and I am not a tidy cook! You're such a good Mom to make a lovely lookout spot for Morris and Molly. I'm sure they love it. Have a fun time with the wizard.
what a shame you missed the bridge, you certainly have had plenty of snow this winter, unlike the UK which has been so mild. Your birds are looking good, it helps when there is good light doesn`t it. The lemon tart looks yummy.
Ok, dearie. You have me intrigued by your mixed metaphors, LOL. You feel like Alice and you're off to see the wizard?!? I bet you are going to visit Allie! I cannot wait to see it all come together. Hugs (to both of you!)
Sometimes a change of plans makes for a wonderful memory!
