Now it is really done. I thought I'd have it done last weekend but I decided to dye the lace, then I found more trims and flowers and then decided to bead along the path......so a week later. I had saved all the ginghams, checks etc. to use with my CQJP cottage blocks. After I cut all the strips I didn't like them together but now I think I might,
Here is a closer shot of the center panel...

Love it, Gerry! Gingham usually does nothing for me, but the way you used it is so charming! That garden is a bee's paradise. Did you send a photo to JBM?
It looks so inviting I just want to walk up the path and knock on the door. I'm usually not a big fan of gingham but I really think it sets off this block nicely. I've been working on my Snake River log cabin quilt because I had bought so nice rayon threads to use on the last Anne Stokes block but I can't find it. And I needed a break from such intense stitching. I have the center and the first border together and only several hundred more pieces to go on the outer border. I love Judy Martin's quilts but they could not under any circumstances be call fast quilts. And they don't use nearly as much scraps as I always hope a scrappy quilt will. I've made 2 this year and the 3 large rough totes don't even show a dent.
Beautiful! The scene has so many wonderful little details to see, but my eye was also drawn to that perfect gingham border.
Absolutely gorgeous, Gerry! But then, everything you do always is!! Hope all is well with you two and the pups..... xoxo, Cathy
a beautiful block with so much to see and admire in it
