Flora's block done and the 2 Moons

I finished the stumpwork bee and used Kreinik HL black and  DMC gold to make it.  I also heavily beaded the circle of braid.  It's a good companion piece for the first block... I was really inspired by the beautiful beading which Janet did on Flora's block.

Last night was a spectacular moon...  It was just huge coming up in the east and I took this at dusk...

And at 5am it was setting in the west and it was actually this color.. so I was standing in my night clothes in the pasture to get the picture...  I had never seen the moon this color...

Coming in from the evening shot I fell on my face literally!!! Came in with a bloody nose and split lip and slept with an ice pack... and was up at 5am to take some Tylenol...  I have to be the clumsiest person in the world.. I am on the ground before I even realize I'm falling.

The block is gorgeous and the moon shots are lovely too but I don't think it was worth the fall to get them. I'm sure you spent a very uncomfortable night. Could you please email me your mailing addy? I'm not sure my emails are getting through to you.

The block is wonderful! With all the beads, these are going to be hefty when all done.

Love the gold work. I ordered my first goldwork book and am in awe to the amount of work that goes into it. Then I looked on the net for supplies... that brought me back down to earth. Ouch. Love the Bee.

As for the moon, we had the same awesome views here in Colorado. I think it has to do with the solar storm reaching earth.

I gotta say, I'm not sure preceding you in a RR is the best position to be in. I'm never going to get to see your work in person until my blocks get home. Next time, I'm going to petition to follow you, LOL!

Well, that moon shot is awesome...and I'm sorry you fell and busted your lip. But it's not how many times you fall Ger, it's that you choose to get back up again. The world belongs to those who get back up.

I'm wondering if the moon being that color had something to do with the solar flare yesterday? I also heard yesterday on NPR that the star , Betelgeuse (pronounced Beetlejuice) (super giant star that is the right shoulder of Orion) is dying and when it does it will go supernova which means we'll have two "suns" and "moons" for a significant period of time. Wouldn't that be cool? It would be like the planet Tatoine in Star Wars...I know, you get so much more than you bargained for when I comment on your blog...what a value!!

P.S. Please please spare me the double word verification...I don't do that to you...

Your work is lovely! The moon was AMAZING last night. We also had clear skies so it was in full view. So sorry to hear of your fall. Wishing you a speedy recovery. Hope you can sleep well. Suzie in Idaho

Gerry: I love your blogs and learn so much every day from you. The pictures are wonderful-peacocks and moon alike. And finally I have something in common with you (I wish it were my stitching instead! lol) I never go anywhere without a bruise! I was behind the door when God gave out the gift of coordination. My worst to date was falling through the attic floor/dining room with my whole left leg dangling from the d rm ceiling! I wish you quick healing! Amy in LA
PS the gold blocks are such a wonderful learning and viewing experience-Thanks!
