DH had a very bad accident toward the end of his trip... He was crossing a foot bridge over some rapids in a nature preserve in Croatia. Unfortunately there were no handrails. He lost his footing and fell into the rapids of a river which carried him down into a lake.. He kept his arms around his head to protect it but the rest of him was badly beaten by the rocks. He had all his clothes on (including a jacket and sweatshirt) and had great difficulty swimming ashore where someone helped him out. They took him to the hospital to be checked over..... Luckily nothing was broken but he is very badly bruised from the rocks... And also unfortunately he lost both his hearing aids and his glasses..
So he is convalesing with Morris's help and in this photo trying to read the paper with Morris sitting on it. We all feel lucky.....
OMGosh, what a horrible accident. I'm so glad he is home where he is safe. And look at that Morris...he knows and he's latched on!

A well deserved rest and recoop period is in order!!! Hugs to ALL of you!
ReplyDeleteHeavens! Very glad he is ok. What a scare!
ReplyDeleteOh my, healing wishes for a quick recovery. Morris is helping with that.
ReplyDeleteOh my goodness Gerry! Poor DH. What a scary fall. Thank goodness he is alright and safe at home. I wouldn't let that handsome fella out of my sight again! I hope his aches and bruises quickly heal.
ReplyDeleteGentle hugs,Pat
It must have been awful for you. So glad that your DH wasn't hurt worse, and that he's on the road to feeling better.
ReplyDeleteBest Wishes,

O,my Gerry. Such a shock. Lucky that you have him home in rather good condition!
ReplyDeleteHugs!
My goodness - how scary! Looks like he has a perfect nurse in Morris. Funny how dogs know when we need extra love. Take care.
ReplyDeleteI'm so glad your DH is okay! That must have been very frightening.
ReplyDeleteIt is as if Morris knows how close he came to losing his master. Gerry, what a thing to happen, the outcome could have been very different. Heavy clothing or the rapids would have been enough to deal with, but together! I am thankful all ended well.

Dearest Gerry, What a horrible scare. What a blessing to have your darling home again, safe in your arms. And Morris certainly knows puppy loves are in order. I am so thankful he has returned to you and is in your good care. Best wishes for a speedy recovery. Suzie in Idaho
ReplyDeleteGerry, my thoughts are with you both. Hugs, Pam
ReplyDeleteI think that DH is one tough cookie...Falls off a bridge, lands in a river, gets battered by rocks, shipped downstream to a lake --- AND all in a Foreign country!! While losing his hearing aids and eyeglasses!!
ReplyDeleteYou tell him, I'm changing his name from DH to Bond.
James Bond.
Now you better make him some of those sour cream rolls his Mom used to make before you leave him again... ;)
Wow! I'm glad he's OK. He is pretty tough to go through that and keep his head (to remember to keep his head covered). But what a story!
ReplyDeleteWhat a scary thing! God bless him! So glad he's home safely and looks like Dr. Morris is on call, so I'm sure all will be well in time.
ReplyDeleteEach day we receive blessing great and small; usually a lot of small ones to give thanks for but; your DH sure received a great one and I know he is thankful for it and all the small ones that came along with it. Eye glasses and hearing aids can be replaced (albeit costly!) but nothing replaces the love of your life. Glad all turned out so well - the aches, pain and bruises won't last forever.....Judy in S. C.
