I can only repeat with a big DITTO all the things the others have said about your wonderful cottage and bird buttons. I would definitely be proud to have one, especially the cottages. I love the English garden feel of the flowers, etc. The tutorial was great, as usual. I saved it.
ReplyDeleteGerry, I still haven't gotten out my paints and tried my hand at this yet, but I will! Love your cottages, so throw my name in the hat!
ReplyDeleteLove your buttons!! All of them. Would love to be able to paint cottages, etc., but you DO have to have some artistic skill, and I can't even draw a straight line with a ruler!
ReplyDeleteLove seeing all of your's though! Clairee
Oooh, Gerry, those buttons are gorgeous. Of course I had to leave a comment and hope I win one of them. Also, thanks so much for putting a picture of the other side of the bathroom door on your blog. I'm the one who asked to see what the other side looked like. I don't know which side I like best now. Hugs, Diane
ReplyDeleteI would love to be able to paint just fine detail on tiny buttons. You do it so beautifully. I did paint a few with Christmas trees but I used them on tree skirts I have made. I think this may be just the job for my hubby. He paints watercolors so he would have a better chance of getting the detail then me.
ReplyDeleteI must tell you that you have a wonderful blog and love all the work, cq and painting that you do. Great idea for the bathroom door.
Hope your leg has fully re-covered. No more pushing trucks out of the snow.
Come visit me at my blog sometime:

I love those cute buttons, what a quaint idea. I think they caught my eye because they are: 1. buttons (I love buttons) 2. cottage garden themed (I love cottages).

Good Afternoon,
ReplyDeleteI'm on the CQEmbellishment group at Yahoo. And I'm learning how to do crazy quilts. I'm finding out that there is a rhyme and reason to it. Not just slapping fabric down.
I read your tutorial on painting "Cottage Buttons." Wow! Your buttons are beautiful! I love your blog; especially about the new lamb.
I'm going to try to paint buttons. Cottages might be a little too hard, but I'm into primitive art and that is a can do for me.
Anyway, Gerry, I have really enjoyed your blog and buttons and stitching...well, I like it all.
Have a wonderful day, and I hope that I win one of your buttons. :)
Big smile on this side of the screen.

Thanks so much for the tutorial. I teach decorative painting and painted a cottage button and a rose button tonight in class and they all wanted to know what I was going to do with them. They all had great ideas for additional buttons, Santa button pins, etc. These were great fun and easy to do. Thanks again, Diana
ReplyDeleteLove your buttons! I am trying to paint some and have done 2. They are not easy but it's fun. I am following your tutorial. Love it! Thanks for posting it. I would love to own one of your buttons! Hope I win! Michele P.
